Some days your appetite feels messy: greasy food sounds too much, cold food feels uncomfortable, and plain salad feels empty.

A warm soup can help you slow down. Winter melon, shrimp, and tofu make a light combination that is easy to eat while still bringing protein and vegetables into the meal.
This works for a lighter dinner or as a gentle first meal inside an eating window. Light does not mean soup only. If this is your main meal, add a small carb portion.
What you need
- Winter melon, sliced or cubed.
- One portion of shrimp.
- Soft or firm tofu.
- Ginger slices, scallions, and a little salt.
How to make it
- Add water and ginger to a pot, then cook the winter melon until partly translucent.
- Add tofu and simmer for a few minutes.
- Add shrimp and turn off the heat once they change color.
- Season lightly with salt and scallions.
Make it more complete
- If this is dinner, pair it with half a bowl of rice or some corn.
- If your protein has been low today, do not make the shrimp and tofu too small.
- Add mushrooms or greens if you want more volume.
A small note
Light eating does not mean eating as little as possible. If meals stay too empty for too long, later compensation can become more likely.
If you are allergic to seafood or soy, swap in chicken, eggs, or another ingredient that fits you. When your appetite feels off, do you prefer warm soup or a warm rice bowl?
