Some first meals after fasting do not need complex cooking. They need to become a real meal quickly.

This chickpea egg veggie wrap requires no cooking if the egg and chickpeas are ready. It works for workdays, late evenings, or days when the fridge only has a few basics. The point is not a low-calorie trick. It is wrapping protein, vegetables, and a staple food together.
Ingredients
For 1 serving:
- 1 whole-grain wrap.
- Half a bowl of cooked chickpeas. Canned chickpeas are fine; rinse and drain them.
- 1 boiled egg, sliced.
- Cucumber, tomato, lettuce, or arugula.
- Sauce: 2 spoons plain yogurt with a little salt, black pepper, lemon juice, or vinegar.
- Optional: sesame, chopped nuts, or avocado for more flavor.
5-minute method
- Lay the wrap flat and spread a thin layer of yogurt sauce.
- Add lettuce, cucumber, and tomato.
- Add chickpeas and egg slices.
- Roll tightly and cut in half.
- For more staying power, add unsweetened soy milk or fruit on the side.
If the wrap breaks easily, use a little less filling or lightly mash the chickpeas before rolling.
Why it works as a first meal
Harvard's Healthy Eating Plate suggests building meals from vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and healthy protein. This wrap follows that idea: the wrap is the staple food, chickpeas and egg provide protein, and vegetables add volume, texture, and fiber.
It is not as light as a plain salad and not as one-note as a starch-only meal. After fasting, that ordinary but complete feeling matters.
Small note
If you are watching sodium, rinse canned chickpeas and go easy on added salt. You can replace the egg with tuna, chicken breast, tofu, or cheese. If beans make you bloated, start with a smaller amount of chickpeas instead of filling the wrap heavily.
If you made this wrap, would you add avocado, mushrooms, or a little spice?
